HEPAS – HEALTHY AND PHYSICALLY ACTIVE SCHOOLS IN EUROPE

MOVE has recently delivered a HEPAS (Healthy and Physically Active Schools in Europe)  training workshop for school-related stakeholders, including teachers, school administrators, and members of Local Councils with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of physically active and healthy schools.

The tools provided during the workshop will serve as a guideline and inspiration for more local schools to support students in being more physically active during the day. School-related physical activity and a healthy lifestyle have numerous benefits on the overall development of children. Schools that try to address the problems of physical inactivity and reshape their environment by improving their infrastructure, contents, and organisation of work bring multiple benefits to their students and improve their future prospects.

Twenty-eight participants coming from various backgrounds and schools participated in the training during which a toolkit was shared for the implementation of more physical activity in schools.

This project is being supported by the European Union Programme Agency (Erasmus+) and is being organised by the University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg, in partnership with the Hungarian School Sport Federation (HSSF), Hungary,  Deporte para la Educacion y la Salud (DES), Spain. International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), Denmark and 5. European Physical Education Association (EUPEA), Switzerland.
